Update: SRB Emerging Critics 2020

2020 CA-SRB Emerging Critics Fellowship Recipients

We’re thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2020 CA-SRB Emerging Critics Fellowships:

Bryan Andy (NSW)

Cher Tan (VIC)

Keyvan Allahyari (VIC)

Prithvi Varatharajan (VIC)

Katie Dobbs (WA)

We are excited to work with these wonderful emerging critics on new essays for publication on the SRB in 2020. These essays will respond to new works of Australian literature and will make important contributions to critical discussion of literature and culture. In addition, the judges short-listed five writers from a field of outstanding applicants. They were:

Nathan Sentance, Sally Olds, Jerath Jay Head, Toby Fitch and May Ngo.

We received a tremendous volume of applications for the fellowships this year and the quality was extremely high. We would like to thank all of the applicants for their submissions. On the strength of these applications we can say that critical culture is thriving – we hope that it continues to be supported in these trying times. The judging panel for the 2020 CA-SRB Emerging Critics Fellowships was comprised of: Alison Whittaker, Suneeta Peres da Costa, and Justin Clemens. We are grateful for the time, energy, expertise, and rigour that they brought to this judging process

The CA-SRB Emerging Critics Fellowships are generously funded by the Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund.
