Do you want to write for the Sydney Review of Books? We are always happy to hear from prospective new writers. Please send pitches, expressions of interest and queries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pitches should be less than 300w long and accompanied by a brief note outlining your particular qualification to write the proposed essay. We work on a pitch basis only for unsolicited commissions so don’t include complete submissions with your initial email. Please note that the SRB will not be considering new pitches and submissions until July 2018.
The best way to get a sense of what we do publish on the website is to look through our archive. Everything we publish is free.
The Sydney Review of Books is committed to publishing the work of a diverse cohort of essayists. We don’t commission on a quota system but we do pay attention to gender and other metrics. We strongly encourage essayists from diverse backgrounds to submit pitches to the Sydney Review of Books.
