The Finishing School collective, the brainchild of Felicity Castagna, is responsible for putting on some of the coolest events in and around Parramatta.
There was the line-up of writers and artists at the Parramatta Artists Studios in Granville, an event titled Eat Your Words, as part of the 2024 Sydney Writers’ Festival.
Fiona Murphy, Jumaana Abdu, Max Easton, Eda Gunaydin, Felicity Castagna, Sheila Ngoc Pham, Daryl Wei Jie Lim spoke alongside Anney Bounpraseuth and Ellen O’Brien. For every piece shared, there was an accompanying food item.
Anyone eating the biscuit to go with Abdu’s God Does Not Eat probably choked.
It was a memorable evening in the Parramatta Artists Studios’ new home in Granville, a building painted in that impossible-to-miss hot pink.
