A song I love by Mumford and Sons comes on at the café and it immediately brings back Mel.
She always wanted to go to Portland and for a second I can’t remember if she made it there.
I keep thinking music is my strongest Mel association but it’s also books and movies and football and travel and clothes, and I am startled unexpectedly as I go about my days.
In November, it will be two years since she unexpectedly passed away.
