Both attend the screening of the films made by the students of Tanya Notley and Vincent Tay at Western Sydney University.
Pak Eko is a shadow puppet master from Central Java and there is something spiritual about everything he does.
His daughter, Mbak Yosa, travelled with him to attend the screening in Parramatta.
Who is the crowd at this event?
The film students and their families, many university people including Vincent and Tanya.
One film is commercial and will be used to help promote the school run by Pak Eko and his family.
For the month of January, the students were shooting in Central Java, and I suspect that the intimacy of the films wouldn’t be possible if there wasn’t already a relationship of many, many years.
