The poem If I Must Die by Refaat Alareer has been translated by people into 180 languages. This poem has been prominent at the protests. So many poets have been killed, so many academics, athletes, so many children.
Today I am thinking about mercy, forgiveness and the nature of grief.
I have written two lines many times in various notebooks.
God forgives.
