Summer Rain

Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - S

Rain again.

And then cue more summer humidity.

This rain arrives early in the afternoon, not as a late afternoon thunderstorm.

There are so many construction workers in Parramatta. Do they wait for the rain to pass or is this it for the day?

Rain should remind me of winter but I associate it more with summer.

The sky is grey in the distance. I can see it if I look south. Otherwise I am enclosed by buildings and trees.

Parramatta has changed. Parramatta continues to change. It is one small tug of history and then full steam ahead.

Change is coming and I resist it.

What does that say about the change?

What does this resistance say about me?
