I show the works of Shireen Taweel to a friend.

They are intricate and their metal patterns are repeated across a surface so that they can be an expression of the infinite.

They parallel one aspect of Lindy Lee’s work in that they are brought to life in the presence of light.

With Taweel’s creations, I always imagine them existing as an interface between shadow and sunlight.
