Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - T

I once met Margo Lanagan, the author of The Brides of Rollrock Island, at Story Factory.

We were both running workshops with the students at the Parramatta site.

At one point I mentioned to her that I was writing these pieces but the collection did not have a name.

She said that sometimes the collection can be given the title of a particular story’s name.

That bit of advice gave the Politica section in the book its name. That also became the overall title of the book.

I write this here as a way of thanking Margo Lanagan for this advice which ended up being very useful and was said casually.
