Warami
Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - W
This outdoor festival was meant to be a celebration in the first week of June.
I was going to run my writing workshop at PHIVE and then head along to the park.
That was the weekend of torrential rain, so heavy that I carried books double-layered in plastic and still was not sure that it would be enough to keep them dry.
The workshop ran and I did not make it to the park.
These days when I pass PHIVE, there’s G’DAY in green and gold lit up along the stripes of the building’s side. It is G’DAY and then it alternates with WARAMI.
