Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - W

My favourite season to walk in Parramatta Park is winter.

The sky is blue, the breeze is cold, and it is pleasant to pass an hour in the winter sun.

Plus the grass is greener than it ever is in summertime.

This park goes back to the beginning of my memory.

Ten years ago maintenance works were started and often there are smaller projects to maintain the park to a particular standard.

On this day, I can see an excavator, I can hear the train. I don’t think of maintenance works but instead this beautiful winter sun.
