Andrew Craig

Prior to his death in the late winter of 2019, due to multiple-relapsed Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Dr Andrew Craig was an early-career academic and a writer, with work in fiction, nonfiction and poetry. His 2014 English literature doctoral thesis, titled The Search for Closure in Selected Literary Representations of the End of the World, discusses the failure of the idea of closure in post-apocalyptic fiction. His thesis proposes that ‘The development of end of the world fictions has paralleled a general sense that endings have failed, and that humanity might be headed towards meaningless destruction.’
