Caitlin Doyle-Markwick is an activist, writer and performer. Her writing has appeared in publications like Antipodes, Overland, Mascara and Cordite. Caitlin hosts a regular performance night in Sydney with her theatre collective and has written two plays. Her latest play, As She Lay, will premier at the Old 505 Theatre in October 2020.

After Sydney house prices and rents skyrocketed in the 1990s and early 2000s and never came back down, Marrickville’s large, empty warehouses became an attractive alternative to sharehousing – especially for artists in need of space.
