Dion Kagan

Dion Kagan is writer and researcher from Melbourne. His essays and reviews have appeared in Meanjin, The Monthly, The Saturday Paper, The Conversation, The Age, Archer, The Big Issue, Australian Book Review, Lit Hub, Metro, Kill Your Darlings, The Sydney Review of Books and more. From 2014 to 2018, he wrote a regular long-form queer column for The Lifted Brow. Dion is also an academic researcher with a PhD in cultural studies from the University of Melbourne, where he worked as a lecturer in gender, screen and cultural studies. He is the author of Positive Images: Gay Men and the Culture of Post-Crisis (2018) and currently works as a researcher in the Gender, Law and Drugs program at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University.
