Meg Samuelson

Meg Samuelson has recently joined the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Adelaide and is a research associate of Stellenbosch University in South Africa. She’s published widely on southern and eastern African literatures and in Indian Ocean studies, and is currently preparing book manuscripts provisionally titled “South African Literatures: Land, Sea, City” and “Amphibian Aesthetics: Writing the African Indian Ocean Littoral”. She also has a collaborative project in progress on Photographic Culture in Zanzibar, 1868-2018, with Pamila Gupta of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and has an emergent interest in elaborating the “blue southern hemisphere” as conceptual category for literary and cultural studies in the postcolonial Anthropocene.
