
Alexandra Effe

Alexandra Effe is a literary critic. Her work investigates how writing and reading affect us cognitive-emotionally at individual and collective levels. She is the author of J.M. Coetzee and the Ethics of Narrative Transgression (2017) and A History of Autofiction (2025). Alexandra is based at the Centre for Literature, Cognition and Emotions (LCE) at the University of Oslo and an alumna of the Oxford Centre for Life-Writing.
