Lara Chapman

Lara Chapman lives and works on unceded Bidjigal, Birrabirragal, and Gadigal lands. She is a freelance writer and editor covering design, architecture, and art, and often explores how these industries intersect with the climate crisis. Her writing has been published in The Saturday Paper, The Guardian Australia, The Architectural Review, Disegno, UNION, Art Monthly, and Real Life, among other publications. She has exhibited curatorial research projects at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Dutch Design Week, and recently co-hosted The Nothing New Tournament as part of Melbourne Design Week 2026, exploring issues of waste in soccer through a five-a-side cup. Lara teaches Design History at UNSW and recently undertook an Artist’s Residency with Bundanon Art Museum where she fell in love with all the wombats.
