Parramatta River

Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - P

Photo of Parramatta River from Parramatta Park at sunset. A wide grass area and walking path are on the right side, tall buildings are on the left, a bridge is visible in the distance, and the sky blends orange, white, blue, and grey.

This river, any river, reminds me now of Gabrielle.

I don’t spend as much time as I used to in Parramatta Park because of a strong association with lockdowns, and then with rivers, they all seem to lead to Gabrielle.

I sometimes think of her when I see the ferry.

I lost two of my closest friends in a short period of time.

I love Mel and Gabrielle still.

 Note the present tense.
