Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - P
Weekly in primary school we’d go as a class to the library.
In Year 3, I remember the librarian saying to us: when choosing a book, if on the first page there are five words you don’t understand, choose another book because maybe that one is too hard.
It was advice I took to heart and it made choosing a book easier because I’d pick out something that challenged me a little but not too much.
