I used to watch these cartoons with my siblings.

Out of the turtles, Donatello was my favourite. It was because I loved the colour purple.

Writing the phrase the colour purple immediately brings Alice Walker’s book to mind.

Why am I thinking of the ninja turtles today?

It is because I looked down a drain and thought this is an aspect of the street that has a strong cartoon association.
