Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - W

There are broadly two camps.

Those who left and those who stayed.

Those who stayed tended to engage with this city’s surrounds.

I consider the space of the Bankstown Poetry Slam and what it has become.

This is one of the best artistic spaces in the country.

It is welcoming, expressive, energetic, and I so admire Sara Mansour and Bilal Hafda, and what they’ve done through their vision, tenacity, and belief in creativity.

One of the best artistic spaces, no exaggeration.

It reaffirms my belief in humanity.
