Canteen

Parramatta: A Dictionary of Place and Memory - C

During primary school, I was given money by my parents to order something from the canteen.

 Usually it would be a cob of corn with butter.

 If the change was smaller, I would get for 20 cents a paper bag of liquorice or else cough lollies.
